Why Visit Olympia?

Located at the foot of the Hill of Kronos and surrounded by the Alfeios and Kladeos rivers, the archaeological site of Olympia was home to a significant sanctuary dedicated to Zeus and the venue for the Olympic Games. The history of the Olympics began in 776 BC. You can visit areas such as the Gymnasium and the Palaestra, where athletes trained. Enter the great Olympic Stadium, which is 212 metres long and had a capacity for 50,000 spectators. You will also see the Temple of Zeus and the remains of the Temple of Hera, featuring the altar of the Olympic flame.

This ticket includes admission to the Archaeological Museum of Olympia and the Museum of the History of the Ancient Olympic Games.
