Why Visit Olympia?

The archaeological site of Olympia is significant, located at the foot of the Hill of Kronos and surrounded by the Alfeios and Kladeos rivers. This site hosted a major sanctuary dedicated to Zeus and was the venue for the Olympic Games, which began in 776 BC. Key areas include the Gymnasium and the Palaestra, the training grounds for athletes. Visitors can access the great Olympic Stadium, featuring a 212-meter track and accommodating 50,000 spectators. You will also see the Temple of Zeus, home to the statue of Zeus, and the Temple of Hera, where the altar of the Olympic flame is located.

This ticket includes admission to the Archaeological Museum of Olympia and the Museum of the History of the Ancient Olympic Games.
