River Walk in Peneda-Gerês National Park
At 10 am, our meeting point will be at the venue on Avenida 25 de Abril in Soajo, where we will don our wetsuits and footwear suited for water trekking.
Once equipped, we will set off toward Peneda-Gerês, recognized as the exclusive National Park in Portugal. This stunning natural expanse, lying along the Spanish border, is an ecological treasure of the Iberian Peninsula, renowned for its significant biodiversity. It is home to native species like the garrano horse.
Throughout this water trekking experience in Peneda-Gerês, we will traverse the main rivers and natural pools within the National Park, including the notable Adrão River, where we can cool off in its crystal-clear waters! We will also seize the chance to dive into the local natural pools.
A mid-route pause will allow us to savor some traditional Portuguese delicacies. Enjoy a tasting of local wines and cured meats – a delightful culinary experience amidst nature! Our exploration will continue as we uncover more wild rivers in the Peneda-Gerês area.
The excursion will conclude with a minibus ride back to Soajo, arriving around 2:30 pm at the original meeting point.
