Colca Canyon 2-Day Trip

Day 1: Arequipa - Chivay

After hotel pickup in Arequipa, depart for the Colca Valley. The journey includes a three-hour drive through the Salinas & Aguada National Reserve, with a stop at the Patapampa viewpoint at over 15,800 feet (4,830 metres) elevation. Continue past lagoons and wetlands to Chivay, a traditional village at over 11,800 feet (3,600 metres). In the afternoon, visit a nearby hot spring for a restorative dip.

Return to Chivay for a traditional dinner accompanied by typical dances.

Day 2: Chivay - Maca - Yanque - Arequipa

After breakfast at the hotel in Chivay, continue exploring the Colca Valley. First stop is the Condor Cross to admire condors and views of the Colca Canyon. Next, return to Chivay, making stops in Maca, a Historic Monument, and Yanque, located in the heart of the Colca Valley.

Return to Chivay for free time to have lunch before heading back to Arequipa, concluding the tour around 5 pm.

Why Not Finish the Tour in Puno?

Choose to end your tour in Puno instead of Arequipa. The itinerary remains the same until leaving Chivay, after which you will head to Puno. This adds a six-hour journey, with stops at Patapampa and Lagunilla, concluding around 7 pm.
