Colca Canyon 2-Day Trip

Day 1: Arequipa - Chivay

After pickup from your hotel in Arequipa, we will travel to the Colca Valley, stopping at the Salinas & Aguada National Reserve and the Patapampa viewpoint at over 15,800 feet (4,830 metres). We will pass lagoons and wetlands before reaching Chivay, located at over 11,800 feet (3,600 metres). In the afternoon, you may visit a local hot spring to benefit from its medicinal properties, followed by a traditional dinner with typical dances.

Day 2: Chivay - Maca - Yanque - Arequipa

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel in Chivay before exploring the Colca Valley. Our first stop will be at the Condor Cross, where we will spend an hour observing the condors and views of the Colca Canyon. We will then return to Chivay, visiting the town of Maca, a Historic Monument of Peru, to see its church and local traditions, followed by a stop in Yanque. Afterward, you will have free time for lunch before returning to Arequipa, with the tour concluding around 5 pm.

Trip Accommodation

You can select from three types of accommodation during booking:

House accommodation: Stay in a local family's home in Coporaque or Sibayo, with lunch and dinner included.Hostel accommodation: Private room with bathroom and hot water at pre-planned options like Colca Inn or Posada del Colca.Accommodation in a three-star hotel: Private room and bathroom, wifi, and heating at hotels like Casa Andina Colca or Colcallaqta.

Why Not Finish the Tour in Puno?

Optionally, you can complete your tour in Puno instead of Arequipa, with a 6-hour journey on the second day. We will stop at Patapampa and Lagunilla before concluding in Puno at around 7 pm.

This tour is free for children under 3 years, provided they sit on a parent's or guardian's lap during bus journeys.
