Colca Valley is home to one of the deepest canyons in the world. Enjoy its scenery with this day trip from Arequipa and explore the town of Chivay.

At the indicated time, we will pick you up from your hotel in Arequipa. After approximately 3 hours of driving, we will arrive at the village of Chivay, located over 3,000 metres (9,842 ft) above sea level, where we will have a light breakfast featuring regional specialties.

Next, we will visit the traditional village of Maca, where you can participate in an optional tasting of the Colca Sour cocktail made with Sancayo and pisco, and take pictures with llamas and alpacas.

We will proceed to the Cruz del Condor viewpoint, just 50 minutes from Chivay, spending an hour there to appreciate views of the Colca Canyon and spot condors. Further stops include viewpoints like Wayrapunko and Antahuilque, showcasing hanging tombs, lithomachs, and Inca-era terraces.

Afterward, we will visit the thermal baths of Chacapi for 45 minutes. Alternatively, you may choose to zipline or kayak during this time.

Around midday, we will return to Chivay or a nearby town for a break for lunch. Following lunch, we continue to the Mirador de Los Volcanes for views of the Chila mountain range and surrounding volcanoes, eventually crossing the National Reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca.

We will return to Arequipa, concluding the excursion after approximately 14 to 15 hours.

When booking, you can select an option with lunch, which includes a buffet lunch at a restaurant in Chivay or the surrounding area.

Hotel Pickup and Ending Point

Pickup is included for hotels within a radius of 1 kilometre (0.6 miles) from the Plaza de Armas in Arequipa. If your hotel is outside this area, you must go to the meeting point at the door of the cathedral in the Plaza de Armas at the specified time.

The tour departing at 2 am ends near the Plaza de Armas, while the tour departing at 2:40 am includes transfer back to your hotel. Note that if there are events or access restrictions, the vehicle may stop nearby.
