Admire one of the most impressive views of the Andean country with this day trip to Colca Canyon from Arequipa. You'll finish the tour in Puno, Peru's folklore capital, to continue exploring.
Day Trip Details
We'll pick you up at your hotel in Arequipa and after a 3-hour bus ride through southern Peru, we'll reach Chivay. At more than 3000 meters (9800 feet) above sea level, we'll stop for a tasty breakfast of bread with butter and jam, along with juice and coffee or tea.
After breakfast, we'll visit the town of Yanque, and then head to the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint. You'll have the option to embark on a small hike. At the viewpoint, you can admire the Colca Canyon, one of the deepest canyons in the world, and spot Andean condors.
After the viewpoint, we'll visit other towns and viewpoints in Colca Valley, such as Wayrapunko or Antahuillque. Next, we'll travel to the Chacapi hot springs, where you can relax for 1 hour in its natural pools.
Following the springs, we’ll enjoy typical dishes of the area at a restaurant before heading to Puno, our final destination. We'll stop to stretch our legs at the Patapampa viewpoint to see the Ampato and Sabancaya volcanoes and at the Salinas Reserve and Lagunillas to spot camelids or wild birds.
The day trip will end at the historic center of the city of Puno, concluding after a total of 17 hours.
Hotel Pickup
This activity includes pickup at hotels within a 0.62-mile (1-kilometer) radius of the Plaza de Armas in Arequipa. If you're staying outside this area, you'll need to make your way to the meeting point at the entrance of the Basilica Cathedral of Arequipa, located in the Plaza de Armas.
