Colca Canyon to Puno Day Trip

Admire one of the most impressive views of the Andean country with this day trip to Colca Canyon from Arequipa. You'll finish the tour in Puno, Peru's folklore capital, to continue exploring.

Day Trip Details

We'll pick you up at your hotel in Arequipa and after a 3-hour bus ride through southern Peru, we'll reach the town of Chivay. At more than 3000 meters (9800 feet) above sea level, we'll stop for breakfast, featuring bread with butter and jam, along with juice and coffee or tea.

After breakfast, we'll visit the town of Yanque and then proceed to the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint. There will be an option for a small hike during this journey. At the viewpoint, you can admire the Colca Canyon, one of the deepest canyons in the world, and spot Andean condors.

We'll then visit other towns and viewpoints in Colca Valley, such as Wayrapunko and Antahuillque, before heading to the Chacapi hot springs to relax in its natural pools for 1 hour.

Next, we'll enjoy typical dishes at a restaurant before departing to Puno, our final destination. During the journey, we'll stop at the Patapampa viewpoint for views of the Ampato and Sabancaya volcanoes and at the Salinas Reserve and Lagunillas to observe local wildlife.

The day trip will conclude at the historic center of the city of Puno after a total of 17 hours.
