Colca Canyon Trek: 2 or 3 Days from Arequipa

Day 1: Arequipa – Cruz del Cóndor – Oasis de Sangalle

At 3 am, we will pick you up from your hotel in Arequipa and head to Chivay for breakfast. We will then proceed to the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint for stunning views of Colca Canyon. The trekking route begins at Pampa San Miguel, offering panoramic views, waterfalls, and hanging bridges as we descend into the canyon. Lunch will be at a family home in San Juan de Chuccho. Afterwards, we will continue to Sangalle Oasis for a swim and evening bonfires, where we will spend the night.

Day 2: Cabanaconde – Chivay – Arequipa

The second day starts early at 5 am, with breakfast in Cabanaconde before heading to Chivay, passing the Antahuilque viewpoint and the village of Maca. Around 11:30 am, we will arrive at Yanque for a hot springs visit. Lunch follows in Chivay, after which we will visit the Andes viewpoint to see the Hualca Hualca, Sabanaya, and Ampato volcanoes. A final stop at Pampas Cañahuas will give us a chance to see vicuñas before returning to Arequipa by 5:30 pm.

3-day trek in Colca Canyon

For reservations, you can choose a 3-day trek option, allowing for further exploration of the Colca Valley. Additional sites include Cosñirhua, Malata, Salinas y Aguada Blanca National Reserve, and an option for a fishing tour on the Colca River.
