Get your walking boots on and prepare for a hike through the Arequipa countryside. We will explore trails surrounding the Misti Volcano, visit the Laguna de Salinas, and interact with llamas and alpacas.

Laguna de Salinas Day Trip

After picking you up from your accommodation in Arequipa between 6 and 6:30 am, we will journey towards Laguna de Salinas, located on the edge of the Salinas & Aguada Blanca Natural Reserve.

On the way, we'll stop in Chiguata, a typical village, for a continental breakfast consisting of juice, mate or coffee, cereals, and toast.

We will explore the natural setting and discover the plants and wildlife characteristic of the Arequipa region.

Located behind the Misti Volcano, one of the region's active volcanoes, we will see an Andean forest with queñuales. Upon reaching Laguna de Salinas, we will witness its changing landscapes; if dry, the lake appears white, and if water is present, we will see salt deposits. Local alpacas and llamas will accompany us, and we may spot three types of flamingos.

We will explore the vicinity of the lagoon and the area around Lojen Volcano, including some thermal baths. After our walk, time will be allocated for lunch before returning to Arequipa.

The tour will conclude at your hotel at approximately 4:30 pm.
