Tacna & Arica Day Trip

Day 1

At 10 pm, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Arequipa and take you to the bus terminal. We'll depart for the city of Tacna, arriving at 5 am the next day.

Day 2

Upon arrival in Tacna, you'll have free time for breakfast. We'll then head to the bus terminal to take a bus across the border into Chile.

After a 1-hour drive, we’ll arrive in Arica. Our exploration starts with a visit to Morro de Arica, providing panoramic views of La Lisera and Chinchorro beaches and the Christ of Peace monument. We'll tour main monuments including the train station, colonial-style Post Office, 21 de Mayo Street, Plaza Colón Square, and St. Mark's Cathedral, noted for its tower designed by Gustave Eiffel.

You’ll have lunch at your leisure to experience Chilean gastronomy. After regrouping, we’ll return to Tacna, which was part of Chile until 1929.

We'll visit the 18th-century Zela House, Vigil Passage with the Tacna Courthouse, and the Municipal Theatre. Our tour includes San Martin Street, Civic Promenade, and the Parabolic Arch commemorating War of the Pacific heroes. Additional stops include the Ornamental Pillar and Tacna's neo-Renaissance cathedral, and the Railway Museum.

We'll then head to the station for the return trip to Arequipa, dropping you off at your hotel at 5 am.
