The Sillar Route
We will pick you up from your accommodation at 8:50 am and set out towards The Sillar Route, one of the most historic routes in Peru. We will stop at a viewpoint to appreciate the surrounding volcanoes before continuing.
First, we will stop at the Añashuayco Quarry, where you can see expert stonemasons working the rock and admire an impressive rocky canyon formed from the excavations.
After leaving the Añashuayco Quarry, we will reach the Culebrillas Gorge in about 30 minutes. This canyon features walls approximately 65 feet (20 meters) high. We will enter the canyon for a 20-minute walk to explore the area.
Our final stop will be to view the petroglyphs of the canyon, mysterious figures carved in stone with unknown meanings.
After this exploration, we will return to Arequipa, concluding the tour at around 1 pm.
