After an hour-long drive, we'll arrive at the start of our hike around Buckskin Gulch Canyon. This gorge pass, located on the border between Utah and Arizona, passes through a canyon known for its intense red colour.
This challenging walk will take between 4 and 10 hours to complete, depending on the group's ability. We'll walk a total of between 6 and 16 kilometres (3.5-10 miles). We will explore an area among narrow sandstone walls.
During the hike, we'll enjoy views of the Vermilion Cliffs National Monument and admire unique petroglyphs created centuries ago by the area's original inhabitants.
We'll take a break halfway through the hike for a picnic-style lunch including sandwiches and energy bars. Afterwards, we'll continue exploring other areas of Buckskin Gulch Canyon.
