Filandia, Salento & Cocora Valley Day Trip

Discover the authentic Antioquian style of Filandia and Salento, two towns representative of the Colombian Coffee region. Their colourful facades amidst the green backdrop of the Cocora Valley create a unique experience.

Description

We will pick you up at your accommodation in Armenia to begin our tour through the Colombian Coffee Axis. A short drive will take us to our first stop: the Cocora Valley.

We will explore the "secret of the thousand greens," learning about the legend of the Cocora princess while walking among the towering Wax Palms, some reaching 60 meters (196 feet) high.

Following a lunch break, we will proceed to Salento to discover Antioquian architecture. The colourful houses and balconies adorned with flowerpots create a picturesque atmosphere. We will visit Calle Real and stroll through the town, culminating at the Camino del Quindío, a historic route, and the Alto de la Cruz viewpoint for panoramic views.

Next, we head to Filandia, known as 'Illuminated Hill.' This town features colourful Antioquian-style buildings and peaceful streets, earning its reputation as one of the most picturesque in the coffee region. In Filandia, we will explore the Street of Stopped Time, where houses retain their original structures.

As a community of coffee growers, Filandia offers vibrant avenues and welcoming locals. At the Central Park, we will engage with the community and enjoy views of the Templo María Inmaculada church. The tour lasts 8.5 hours, concluding with a return to your hotel.

Pickup Info

This tour includes pickup and drop-off from hotels in central Armenia. For accommodations outside the city center (Via Montenegro, Via Eden, La Tebaida, Combia, and Calarca), we will meet at the Transport Terminal of Armenia.
