La Virginia & El Guásimo Excursion
At 7 am on the day of the tour, we will pick you up at your hotel in Armenia and travel for an hour and a half to the El Guásimo Natural Reserve in La Virginia. Once there, we will begin a three-hour hike through this protected area, the only dry tropical forest in the Andean region.
Upon reaching the Cauca River, we will follow its course for an hour, crossing lush vegetation and observing a variety of flora and fauna, including monkeys, felines, rodents, armadillos, and sloths. A break will be included for a typical lunch consisting of a main dish and a drink.
Afterward, we will travel to La Virginia, where the Cauca and Risaralda rivers meet. During our town tour, we will visit extensive coffee plantations and learn about local legends and traditions.
Finally, we will return to Armenia, dropping you off at your hotel around 2 pm.
