La Virginia & El Guásimo Excursion

At 7 am, we will pick you up at your hotel in Armenia and depart towards the department of Risaralda. After a one and a half hour trip, we will arrive at the El Guásimo Natural Reserve in La Virginia.

We will start a three-hour hike through this protected area, which is the only dry tropical forest in the Andean region.

Reaching the Cauca River, we will follow its course for an hour, crossing lush vegetation and observing a diverse range of flora and fauna, including monkeys, felines, rodents, armadillos, and sloths.

During the hike, we will take a break for a typical lunch, which includes a main dish and a drink.

Next, we will travel to La Virginia, where the Cauca and Risaralda rivers meet. We will tour the town, view its extensive coffee plantations, and learn about local legends and traditions.

Finally, we will return to Armenia and drop you off at your hotel around 2 pm.
