La Virginia & El Guásimo Excursion

At 7 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Armenia and travel towards the department of Risaralda. After an hour and a half, we'll arrive at the El Guásimo Natural Reserve, located in La Virginia.

We will begin a three-hour hike through this protected area, known as the only dry tropical forest in the Andean region.

Reaching the Cauca River, we will follow its course for an hour, exploring the rich vegetation and observing the various flora and fauna. Wildlife sightings may include monkeys, felines, rodents, armadillos, and sloths.

During the hike, there will be a break for a typical lunch consisting of a main dish and a drink.

Afterward, we will proceed to La Virginia, where the Cauca and Risaralda rivers meet. We will tour the town to see coffee plantations and learn about local legends and traditions.

Finally, we will return to Armenia and drop you off at your hotel around 2 pm.
