Set off from Armenia on an adventure to one of the most important nature reserves in this part of Colombia on our hike around the Otún Quimbaya Sanctuary. We'll go on an unforgettable hiking route around this beautiful place.
Otún Quimbaya Sanctuary Hike
After picking you up from your hotel in Armenia at 8 am, we'll drive northbound for 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach the Otún Quimbaya Flora and Fauna Sanctuary, located in the Central Cordillera of the Colombian Andes. This reserve focuses on conserving various species, including some that are endangered.
Upon arrival, we will begin a 1.2-mile (2-kilometre) hike through the Andean rainforest. This low-difficulty hike will provide opportunities to see birds such as moustached antpittas, multicoloured tanagers, and torrent ducks, along with other endemic species.
Additionally, we may observe mammals including monkeys, silver foxes, tapirs, and pacaranas. This sanctuary offers a safe habitat for these animals.
During our hike, we will take a break for a traditional local lunch, which includes one course and a drink. After lunch, we will continue our exploration of the natural surroundings.
We will return to Armenia and drop you off at your hotel by 3 pm.
