Pereira & Banana Plantation Tour

At 8 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Armenia and drive to Pereira, 28 miles (45 kilometres) away.

After an hour's drive, we'll arrive near this town and take a tour of its pineapple plantations to learn about the fruit tradition of the Risaralda area.

Afterwards, we'll stop for a tasting of arepas de choclo, corn tortillas usually accompanied by a special sauce.

Next, we'll visit the city centre of Pereira, where we'll see sites such as the César Gaviria viaduct, Simón Bolívar Square, and the Cathedral of Nuestra Señora de la Pobreza. We will also learn about the origin of the city's name.

The final stop will be a banana farm, where we will explore the process of Colombian banana cultivation, from planting to harvesting. Colombia ranks as the fifth largest exporter of bananas globally.

Finally, after the visit to the banana farm, we'll return to Armenia, dropping you off at your hotel at 3 pm.
