Tour to Guática & Quinchía
At 7 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Armenia to head north to the department of Risaralda. The journey will take about 3 hours to reach Quinchía, where our first stop will be.
In Quinchía, known as Villa de los Cerros, we will visit the archaeological museum, Tierras de Xixarca, which houses artifacts made by the Quimbaya indigenous people. Next, we'll tour a filigree workshop to observe local artisans crafting handicrafts. Following that, a typical lunch will be served, including a main dish and a drink. After lunch, we’ll proceed to Guática through the scenic landscapes of northern Risaralda.
In Guática, established by indigenous people in 1638, we will learn about the silk production process. Community members will explain how they feed the silkworms, which produce silk used for hand-made textiles. You will have free time for shopping before we return to Armenia, with drop-off at your hotel around 4 pm.
Tour without Lunch
If you prefer to bring your own lunch, you can choose the tour option without lunch. You will have time to have lunch on your own before the visit to Guática.
