Tour to Guática & Quinchía

At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Armenia to head north to the department of Risaralda. The journey will take approximately 3 hours to reach Quinchía, where we'll make our first stop.

We'll visit Quinchía, known as Villa de los Cerros, and stop at the archaeological museum, Tierras de Xixarca. This museum showcases artifacts made by the Quimbaya, an indigenous people that inhabited the area until the 16th century.

Next, we'll visit a filigree workshop to observe local artisans using goldsmithing techniques to create typical handicrafts. Afterward, we'll enjoy a lunch of typical food consisting of a main dish and a drink. Following lunch, we'll proceed to Guática, traveling through the scenic landscapes of northern Risaralda.

In Guática, a village settled by indigenous people in 1638, we'll learn about the silk production process, including how community members feed silkworms to produce silk for handmade textiles. You'll have free time for shopping before returning to Armenia, where you'll be dropped off at your hotel after a total of 9 hours.
