Tour to Guática & Quinchía
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Armenia to head north to the department of Risaralda. The journey to Quinchía takes about 3 hours, where we'll make our first stop.
In Quinchía, known as Villa de los Cerros (Villa of the Hills), we'll visit the archaeological museum, Tierras de Xixarca, to admire artifacts made by the Quimbaya indigenous people. Next, we'll explore a filigree workshop, witnessing local artisans crafting typical handicrafts through this goldsmithing technique. Lunch will include a main dish and a drink featuring typical food of the region. Afterward, we'll proceed to Guática through northern Risaralda's scenic landscapes.
In Guática, founded in 1638 by indigenous people, we'll learn about the silk production process. Community members will demonstrate how they cultivate plants for silkworms, leading to the handmade textiles produced by artisans. You'll have leisure time for shopping before we return to Armenia, concluding the tour after a total of 9 hours.
Tour without Lunch
If you prefer to bring your own lunch, you can select the tour option without lunch. You'll have time to have lunch on your own before the visit to Guática.
