La Palma & Tajogaite Volcano Day Trip
At the scheduled time, meet at the Port of Los Cristianos in South Tenerife. We'll board a ferry to La Palma, witnessing the Tajogaite eruption.
After a two and a half hour ferry ride, we will arrive at Santa Cruz de La Palma and have half an hour of free time to explore the old town. Following this, we will board a bus to the Mirador de la Concepción, located in the highest area of the Caldera volcano, for views of the capital.
On our way, we will visit the Time Tunnel and observe the changing vegetation approaching the Tajogaite volcano, previously known as Cumbre Vieja. We will discuss volcanology and the formation of the Canary Islands, as well as the Teneguía eruption in 1971.
We will stop at the Tacande neighborhood for a view of the volcano, then continue to Tazacorte to see the lava flows.
In Tazacorte, we will enjoy a lunch with two typical Canarian dishes. After lunch, we will visit the Mirador de Tajuya to view the volcano one last time.
We will then return to Santa Cruz de La Palma to board the ferry back to Tenerife, arriving at approximately 7:30 pm.
