La Palma & Tajogaite Volcano Day Trip
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the Port of Los Cristianos in South Tenerife. We'll board a ferry for a 2.5-hour journey to Santa Cruz de La Palma, experiencing the Tajogaite eruption firsthand.
Upon arrival, we'll take a guided tour to see colonial houses, then head to Caldera de Taburiente National Park for a visit to the Mirador de la Cumbrecita.
Next, we'll stop in El Paso for lunch. Post-meal, we'll observe the changing vegetation as we approach the Tajogaite volcano and discuss volcanology and the formation of the Canary Islands, including the impacts of the Teneguía eruption in 1971.
We'll visit the Tacande neighborhood for views of the volcano and continue to Tazacorte to see the lava flows from the eruption. In Tazacorte, a delicious lunch featuring two typical Canarian dishes will be served.
After lunch, we'll visit the Mirador de Tajuya for a final view of the volcano before returning to Santa Cruz de La Palma to board the ferry back to Tenerife, arriving around 7:30 pm.
