On our Tenerife Snorkelling & Sea Turtle Watching activity, we will explore the marine ecosystem around the island and observe the behavior of sea turtles.
Description
At 9 am, we will meet at the Port of Las Galletas and board a Zodiac-type boat, which will take us to a location for snorkelling and sea turtle observation. We will pass by Malpais de Rasca, a protected nature reserve with a volcanic landscape visible from the sea. After receiving instructions from an expert on movement in the water, we will don our snorkelling gear and enter the Atlantic Ocean.
Participants should watch for loggerhead and green turtles, which can grow to over 3 feet long (1 metre). Additionally, we may encounter shoals of white seabream and bogas, among other fish species commonly found around Tenerife's seabed. The activity will conclude with our return to the starting point at approximately 11 am.
Sea Turtle Watching
The coast of Tenerife is noted for sea turtle sightings. While there is a high probability of spotting these animals, it cannot be guaranteed due to their wild nature. The activity will be conducted with respect for the animals, maintaining small groups and consideration for the marine environment.
