On our Tenerife Snorkelling & Sea Turtle Watching activity, we'll explore the diverse marine ecosystem around the island and observe the behavior of sea turtles.
Description
At 9 am, we will meet at the Port of Las Galletas and board a Zodiac-type boat. The boat will take us to a snorkelling area to observe sea turtles.
We will pass by the Malpais de Rasca, a protected nature reserve with a volcanic landscape that we can admire from the sea. An expert instructor will provide tips on how to move smoothly in the water, after which we can put on our snorkelling gear and enter the Atlantic Ocean.
Keep an eye out for loggerhead and green turtles swimming in the water. These animals can grow to over 3 feet long (1 meter), which you may see for yourself!
During the activity, we may also spot shoals of white seabream, bogas, and other fish species around Tenerife's seabed.
We will return to the starting point, arriving around 11 am.
Sea Turtle Watching
The coast of Tenerife is prime for spotting sea turtles; however, the animals are unpredictable. While there is a high probability of sighting sea turtles, it cannot be guaranteed since they are wild animals.
The activity will be conducted in a manner that respects the animals, with small groups being considerate of the marine environment.
