On our Tenerife Snorkelling & Sea Turtle Watching activity, we'll explore the marine ecosystem around the island and observe sea turtles.
Description
At 9 am, we'll meet at the Port of Las Galletas and board a Zodiac-type boat. The boat will take us to an area for snorkelling and observing sea turtles.
We'll pass by the Malpais de Rasca, a protected nature reserve with a volcanic landscape that we can admire from the sea. After receiving tips from an expert instructor on moving smoothly in the water, we will wear our snorkelling gear and jump into the Atlantic Ocean.
Look out for loggerhead and green turtles swimming in the water. These animals can reach over 3 feet long (1 metre). Additionally, we may see schools of white seabream, bogas, and other fish species often found around Tenerife's seabed.
We will then head back to the starting point, arriving at approximately 11 am.
Sea Turtle Watching
The coast of Tenerife is one of the best locations in the Canary Islands for spotting sea turtles. While the probability of spotting them is high, it cannot be guaranteed since they are wild animals.
The activity will be conducted in a manner that respects the animals, maintaining small groups and considering the marine environment.
