On our Tenerife Snorkelling & Sea Turtle Watching activity, we will explore the marine ecosystem around the island and observe the behavior of sea turtles.
Description
At 9 am, we will meet at the Port of Las Galletas and board a Zodiac-type boat. The boat will take us to a snorkeling area where we can observe sea turtles.
We will pass by the Malpais de Rasca, a protected nature reserve with a volcanic landscape. After receiving tips from an expert instructor on moving smoothly in the water, we will put on our snorkeling gear and enter the Atlantic Ocean.
Look for loggerhead and green turtles swimming in the water. These impressive animals can grow to over 3 feet long (1 metre). Additionally, we may spot shoals of white seabream, bogas, and other fish species around Tenerife's seabed.
We will return to the starting point around 11 am.
Sea Turtle Watching
The coast of Tenerife is an excellent location for spotting sea turtles. However, animals are unpredictable, and while there is a high probability of spotting sea turtles, it cannot be guaranteed as they are in the wild.
The activity will respect the animals with small groups and consideration for the marine environment.
