On our Tenerife Snorkelling & Sea Turtle Watching activity, we'll explore the marine ecosystem around the island and observe sea turtles.
Description
At 9 am, we'll meet at the Port of Las Galletas and board a Zodiac-type boat. The boat will take us to an area suitable for snorkelling and turtle observation. We'll pass by the Malpais de Rasca, a protected nature reserve with a volcanic landscape visible from the sea. After an expert instructor provides tips on water movement, we can don our snorkelling gear and enter the Atlantic Ocean.
Look for loggerhead and green turtles swimming in the water, which can exceed 3 feet (1 metre) in length. Additionally, we may encounter shoals of white seabream, bogas, and other fish species common in Tenerife's seabed.
We will return to the starting point by approximately 11 am.
Sea Turtle Watching
The coast of Tenerife is a prime location for spotting sea turtles, but animals are unpredictable. While there is a high probability of sightings, it cannot be guaranteed as they are in the wild. The activity will be conducted respectfully towards the animals, with small groups to minimize environmental impact.
