Lake Manyara Safari
After hotel pickup in Arusha, the first stop will be the village of Mto Wa Mbu. Here, you will learn about Tanzanian culture, as the village is home to nearly 120 different tribes.
This area primarily supports an agricultural economy focusing on rice and bananas, alongside cattle raising. Expect to see cows near houses, food stalls, and local artists in the streets.
Following the visit to Mto Wa Mbu, you will get back into the 4x4 and head towards Lake Manyara National Park. This park, declared a Biosphere Reserve in 1981, showcases diverse ecosystems including semi-arid areas, swampy regions, and acacia and baobab forests.
Wildlife in the park includes elephants, crocodiles, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, baboons, and over 400 species of birds. Notably, the park is known for its tree-climbing lions, and your guide will share insights about this behavior during the tour.
In the afternoon, you will return to your hotel in Arusha.
