Thinking of doing a safari near Arusha? Discover Lake Manyara National Park from a 4x4 with an English-speaking guide and drive through the village of Mto Wa Mbu to experience traditional Tanzanian life.

Lake Manyara Safari

After picking you up from your hotel in Arusha, the first stop will be the village of Mto Wa Mbu, where you will learn about Tanzanian culture in a village home to nearly 120 different tribes. The livelihoods here revolve around agriculture, primarily rice and bananas, along with cattle raising. The streets are lively with food stalls and local artists.

Following the village visit, you will board the 4x4 and head to Lake Manyara National Park, a Biosphere Reserve since 1981, known for its diverse ecosystems including semi-arid areas, swamps, and acacia or baobab forests.

The park is home to various wildlife such as elephants, crocodiles, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, baboons, and up to 400 species of birds. Notably, the park features lions that are known to perch in trees. Your guide will share theories behind this behavior during the tour.

In the afternoon, you will return to your hotel in Arusha.
