At the foothill of Kilimanjaro lies Marangu, a village with a rich tradition and full of nature. On this day trip, we'll explore this breathtaking location and marvel at the scenery.

Marangu Day Trip

At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Arusha and start this adventure. We'll head to Kilimanjaro, at the foot of which lies Marangu, a village where we'll learn about the Chagga people.

The first stop will be at the Marangu Falls. Amidst lush nature, you'll hear the water rushing down, and then crystalline waterfalls will come into view. Swimming is an option, but be prepared for the cool waters sourced from Kilimanjaro.

The tour will continue at the Chagga museum. The Chagga are the third largest ethnic group in Tanzania and were the first to convert to Christianity. We'll learn about their way of life and visit tunnels that served as a refuge during inter-clan conflicts.

Marangu is also known for its colorful markets full of bananas. After a brief stop for lunch, we'll continue to the coffee and banana plantations. You will discover various uses of bananas by the Chagga people and have the opportunity to sample mbege, a banana beer.

Once the visit is over, we'll return to Arusha, arriving back at your hotel at 4 pm.
