Marangu Day Trip

At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Arusha and head to Marangu, situated at the foot of Kilimanjaro. Here, we'll learn about the Chagga people.

The first stop will be at the Marangu Falls, where you can enjoy the sound of the rushing water and view the crystalline waterfalls. The water is sourced from Kilimanjaro and is notably cool.

The tour will continue at the Chagga museum, highlighting the Chagga, the third largest ethnic group in Tanzania, and their conversion to Christianity. We'll explore their way of life and visit tunnels that served as refuges during inter-clan conflicts.

Marangu is renowned for its vibrant markets filled with bananas. After a brief stop for lunch, we'll proceed to the coffee and banana plantations, where you'll discover the various uses of bananas by the Chagga and sample mbege, a banana beer.

After the visit, we'll return to Arusha, arriving back at your hotel by 4 pm.
