Mount Kilimanjaro Hike: 10 Days

During the 10-day hike, we'll ascend along the Lemosho route to Kilimanjaro, experiencing various landscapes including forests, plateaus, desert, and glaciers.

Day 1: Arusha

Meet at the airport and transfer to a hotel in Arusha. After settling in, meet the guides to learn about the Lemosho route. The day concludes with dinner.

Day 2: Arusha - Londorossi Gate

After breakfast, a two-hour drive takes us to Londorossi Gate, the western entrance to Kilimanjaro. Begin a 5 km trek through cultivated fields to the Lemosho trail. Meet local Chagga guides and trek to Big Tree camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Londorossi Gate - Meseta de Shira

Post breakfast, enter heather fields, ascending 9 km to the Shira plateau, our camp for the night, where we will have dinner.

Day 4: Shira Plateau

Cross the Shira plateau to reach a moorland area before arriving at Moir camp after six hours of ascent, located under the mountain's ice fields. Dinner and rest follow.

Day 5: Shira Plateau

Continue to the western part of Kilimanjaro, crossing moorlands and entering the Alpine desert. Travel 5 km to Lava Tower camp for acclimatization, dinner, and rest.

Day 6: Shira Plateau - Barranco Valley

Embark on a 7-hour walk to Barranco Valley, culminating at Karanga Valley camp for dinner and sunset views over the glacier valley.

Day 7: Barranco Valley - Desert Plateau

Begin the day by crossing Karanga River, climbing 6 km to the desert plateau, where you'll see Mawenzi summit. Arrive at Kosovo camp for the night.

Day 8: Desert Plateau - Uhuru

Begin ascent to Kibo summit early, reaching Uhuru peak at 5896 m. Enjoy time at the summit before descending for dinner.

Day 9: Uhuru - Mweka Gate- Arusha

Descend through jungle to Mweka Gate. After lunch, return to the hotel in Arusha for a celebration dinner.

Day 10: Arusha

Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
