Mount Kilimanjaro Hike: 10 Days

During the 10-day hike, we'll ascend along the Lemosho route to Kilimanjaro, enjoying the various landscapes including forests, plateaus, deserts, and glaciers.

Day 1: Arusha

We'll meet at the airport and take you to the hotel in Arusha. After settling in, we'll meet the guides for details about the Lemosho route. The day ends with dinner.

Day 2: Arusha - Londorossi Gate

After breakfast, we'll drive two hours to Londorossi Gate, the western entrance to Kilimanjaro. The 5 km trek begins here, taking us through cultivated fields to the Lemosho trail. We will camp at Big Tree camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Londorossi Gate - Meseta de Shira

After breakfast, we ascend about 9 km through heather fields to reach the Shira plateau, where we will camp, have dinner, and rest.

Day 4: Shira Plateau

We cross the Shira plateau, resting in a moorland area, and continue to a large gorge. We will camp at Moir camp under the ice fields after a six-hour ascent, have dinner, and rest.

Day 5: Shira Plateau

We'll cross a moorland and enter the Alpine desert, traveling 5 km to Lava Tower camp at 4,114 m. Dinner and rest will be at the camp.

Day 6: Shira Plateau - Barranco Valley

A 7-hour walk will take us down to Barranco Valley. We’ll arrive at Karanga Valley camp for dinner and enjoy the sunset over Kilimanjaro glacier valley.

Day 7: Barranco Valley - Desert Plateau

We will climb about 6 km to the desert plateau, reaching Kosovo camp after six hours of climbing to spend the night next to a crater.

Day 8: Desert Plateau - Uhuru

We begin our ascent to Kibo summit early, reaching Uhuru peak at 5896 m, the highest point in Africa. After taking pictures and enjoying the views, we'll return to camp for dinner.

Day 9: Uhuru - Mweka Gate - Arusha

We'll descend to Mweka Gate, have lunch, then return to the hotel in Arusha for a celebration dinner.

Day 10: Arusha

We will accompany you to the airport for your flight home.

Tour Accommodation

On the first and last nights, we will stay at Maura Apartments & Lodges in Arusha. The rest of the nights will be spent in tents.
