Certosa di Padula Excursion

At the selected time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Ascea. From there, we'll travel by bus to the Certosa di Padula, one of the most impressive Baroque monumental complexes in southern Italy.

Upon arrival, you'll observe the significant size of this monastery, known as Certosa di San Lorenzo, which is second in size only to the Grande Chartreuse of Grenoble in France.

We'll explore the interior spaces of the religious complex, including the church and chapels of the Carthusian monastery, the Capitolio room, the library with a Vietrese ceramic tiled floor, and the refectory, where the essence of the Carthusian monks remains palpable.

Additionally, we will visit the Great Cloister of the Padula Charterhouse, covering 15,000 square meters, recognized as the largest cloister in the world.

At the end of the visit, we'll return to Ascea and take you back to your hotel, concluding this four-hour excursion.
