Certosa di Padula Excursion

At the selected time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Ascea. From there, we'll travel by bus to the Certosa di Padula, one of the most impressive Baroque monumental complexes in southern Italy.

Upon arrival, you'll notice the size of this monastery, officially known as Certosa di San Lorenzo, which is second in size only to the Grande Chartreuse of Grenoble in France.

We will explore the Baroque façade and then learn about the complex's different areas. The itinerary includes a visit to the church and chapels of the Carthusian monastery, the Capitolio room, the library featuring a Vietrese ceramic tiled floor, and the refectory, still reflecting the Carthusian monks' essence.

We will also see the Great Cloister of the Padula Charterhouse, the largest cloister in the world, covering an area of 15,000 square meters.

At the end of the visit, we'll return to Ascea and take you back to your hotel, concluding this four-hour excursion.
