Get to know the Jesuit Missions of Santísima Trinidad del Paraná and Jesús de Tavarangüé with this trip from Asunción.

Jesuit Missions Excursion

At 12:01 am, we will pick you up from your hotel in Asunción to begin the journey to the Jesuit Missions of Trinidad and Jesús de Tavarangüé. You will learn about the history of these Guaraní villages founded in the 17th century.

We will board a comfortable private vehicle and make a six-and-a-half-hour drive to the reductions, observing Paraguay's tropical scenery and stopping for breakfast along the way.

Upon arrival at the Jesuit Missions of Santísima Trinidad del Paraná, the largest and best-preserved Guaraní reduction in the country, we will see the structure of the village, including the main square and the largest temple among the Jesuit reductions, designated a World Heritage Site in 1993.

Next, we will continue to the missions of Jesús de Tavarangüé, where one of the largest churches of the time was started but remained unfinished due to the expulsion of the Jesuits in 1768 by Charles III of Spain.

After the visits, we will go to Encarnación for a buffet lunch or a full menu at Hotel Papillón de Bella Vista. The afternoon will be free for you to stroll along the Costanera, shop in the city, and relax on San José beach.

At 6 pm, we will conclude the excursion and return to Asunción, arriving at your hotel by 11 pm.
