San Bernardino Day Trip

At 9 am, we will pick you up from your hotel in Asunción and drive to San Bernardino, a town on the shores of Ypacaraí Lake. The journey takes approximately 50 minutes, during which we will view the landscapes of Cordillera Department and pass through villages known for their handicrafts.

Upon arrival in San Bernardino, recognized as one of Paraguay's summer hotspots, we will start our visit with a boat ride on Ypacaraí Lake. You will learn about the history and geography of the area while spotting the iconic Hotel del Lago, a 19th-century establishment that has hosted notable guests, including Franklin D. Roosevelt and Charles de Gaulle. A traditional lunch will be provided at the hotel, followed by a tour to experience its elegant style and furnishings.

Next, we will embark on a guided tour of San Bernardino, exploring its avenues, squares, and main buildings. To conclude the day, we will visit La Alemana, known for its buns, where you will have the opportunity to sample a treat if desired.

We will then return to Asunción, with a scheduled drop-off at your hotel around 7 pm.
