San Bernardino Day Trip

At 9 am, we will pick you up from your hotel in Asunción and drive to San Bernardino, located on the shores of Ypacaraí Lake. The journey takes approximately 50 minutes, during which we will enjoy views of the Cordillera Department's landscapes and pass through villages known for their handicrafts.

Upon arrival in San Bernardino, a popular summer destination, we will start with a boat ride on Ypacaraí Lake, where you will learn about the local history and geography. During the ride, we will see the Hotel del Lago, a 19th-century establishment that has hosted notable figures including Franklin D. Roosevelt and Charles de Gaulle. A traditional lunch will be provided at the hotel, followed by a tour of its elegant style and furnishings.

After lunch, we will embark on a guided tour of San Bernardino, exploring its avenues, squares, and main buildings. We will conclude the day with a stop at La Alemana, a shop famous for its buns, where you will have free time to try one of these treats if desired.

We will return to Asunción and drop you off at your hotel around 7 pm.
