Enjoy a leisurely felucca ride along the River Nile and discover Aswan's largest island, Elephantine Island.

Tour Details

At the indicated time, we will pick you up from your hotel or cruise ship in Aswan and head to the banks of Africa's longest river: the Nile. We will board a felucca, a traditional Egyptian boat, and journey towards Elephantine Island. This island was significant as it represented a natural border between Egypt and Nubia and housed a fortified area for many years.

We will take a boat tour of Elephantine Island with an English-speaking guide, who will explain its history, including its name, which relates to its past as a trading centre for ivory. We will also visit the Khnun Temple from outside, notable for its function in measuring Nile floods. Finally, we will sail past the Aswan Botanical Garden to see a variety of endemic flowers and plants.

After our exploration, we will return to your hotel or cruise.
