Acropolis Guided Tour

On this guided tour of the Acropolis of Athens, we will explore one of the most significant Greek temple complexes in the capital of Greece.

Description

We will meet at number 26 Athanasiou Diakou to begin our guided tour of the Acropolis. The tour will take us to the hill housing the Upper City of Athens. We will ascend the southern slope to evade large crowds and enjoy views of the city. At the top, we will visit the Theater of Dionysus, dating back to the 5th century BC.

We will then enter the Acropolis via the Propylaea and focus on the Temple of Athena Nike. Inside, we will uncover legends of Greek mythology while touring the Parthenon and Erechtheion along with its caryatids. This tour is ideal for enthusiasts of Classical Greece.

The 2-hour tour concludes with a panoramic view of Athens.

Tour Schedule

When booking, you may choose to start the tour at 8:15 am, 8:45 am, 9 am, or 10:30 am. Early morning bookings are recommended to avoid queues and the heat.

Acropolis Tickets

You can opt for a guided tour of the Acropolis without tickets, purchasing your own or accessing a free ticket according to your selected tour time. Availability of tickets at the Acropolis ticket office on the day of the activity is not guaranteed, so early online purchase is advised.

For tours from April 1 to October 31, 2025, tickets must be acquired during specific time frames: between 8 to 9 am for the 8 am tour and between 11 am to 12 pm for the 11 am tour.

EU citizens under 25 and non-EU citizens under 18 can enter for free with ID. Adults over 65 receive a 50% discount at the ticket office or Acropolis website. It is advisable to book the guided tour without tickets and obtain both paid and free tickets in advance for those eligible for free admission.
