Acropolis Guided Tour

On this guided tour of the Acropolis of Athens, we will visit one of the most iconic Greek temple complexes.

Description

At the indicated time, we will meet at number 26 Athanasiou Diakou to begin the tour. We will walk to the hill where the Upper City of Athens is located.

We will ascend the southern slope to avoid large crowds while enjoying views of the city. Upon reaching the top, the tour will commence at the Theater of Dionysus, which dates back to the 5th century BC.

Next, we will enter the Acropolis through the Propylaea, focusing on the Temple of Athena Nike. Inside, we will explore the Parthenon and the Erechtheion with its caryatids while learning about notable legends from Greek mythology. The tour concludes with a panoramic view of Athens.

Tour Schedule

At the time of booking, you can choose to start the tour at 8:15 am, 8:45 am, 9 am, or 10:30 am. Early morning bookings are recommended to avoid queues.

Acropolis Tickets

You can book a guided tour of the Acropolis without tickets and purchase your own ticket or pick up a free ticket based on the guided tour schedule. Availability at the ticket office on the day of the activity is not guaranteed, so advance online purchase is advisable.

If taking the tour between April 1 and October 31, 2025, ticket purchase times vary by tour start time. EU citizens under 25 and non-EU citizens under 18 may enter free with ID. Adults over 65 qualify for a 50% discount at the ticket office or on the Acropolis website. It is recommended to purchase the guided tour without tickets for eligible group members to enjoy free admission.
