Why Visit the Acropolis Museum?

Located at the foot of the hill where the Parthenon stands, the Acropolis Museum building is essential for learning about Athens' history and Ancient Greece. With your ticket, you can visit various areas in the permanent exhibition. On the ground floor, the Gallery of the Acropolis Slopes displays archaeological treasures found on the slopes. The first floor features the Archaic Acropolis Gallery with statues from the first temples in the Acropolis. The multimedia space on the second floor and the top-floor Parthenon Gallery are must-see areas, showcasing the friezes of the Panathenaic procession. The museum also includes the Karyatid collection and sculptures from the Acropolis, the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, and the Erechtheion. Glass viewpoints offer views of the Parthenon and surrounding ruins.
