Join us for a day trip to Ancient Corinth from Athens to discover this significant Greco-Roman city.
Ancient Corinth Day Trip
The trip begins with a pickup from your hotel in Athens. We will head west towards Ancient Corinth and pass sites like Daphnis and Elefsis, enjoying coastal views along the way.
Our first stop will be the Corinth Canal, an engineering marvel from the 1890s that connects the Saronic Gulf and the Gulf of Corinth. You'll have time to admire the view and take photos.
Next, we will travel to Ancient Corinth, once among the richest cities due to its strategic location. It is notable that the apostle St. Paul preached there for 18 months in 50 A.D.
While visiting Ancient Corinth, we will explore the Agora or market square, various fountains, and the Temple of Apollo from the 6th century B.C. Despite earthquakes in 375 A.D. and 521 A.D., the Roman city's layout remains intact. Walking through these ruins provides insight into life in this influential ancient city.
We will then return to Athens, arriving approximately 6 hours after the initial pickup.
