Discover the landmarks in Athens lit up on this night walking tour around Monastiraki Square.
Description
The evening tour of Athens will start at the entrance to Hotel the Dolli. From here, we will begin our tour of Plaka and Monastiraki.
We will visit two historic temples: the Orthodox Church of St. Mary Pantanassa and the Tzistarakis Mosque, admiring their illumination and learning about their histories. One of them has a notable curse.
Behind the mosque are the remains of the ancient library of Hadrian. We will also enjoy views of the Acropolis of Athens, including the illuminated Parthenon, Propylaea, and Erechtheion.
Near the library lies the Cathedral of the Annunciation of St. Mary, a major temple in Plaka. We will also see Hadrian's Arch, dating back to the 2nd century AD. The tour lasts 2.5 hours and concludes at the starting point.
Dinner
Optionally, you can choose a tour that includes dinner. After the walking tour, directions will be provided to the Meandros restaurant, where you’ll enjoy an appetizer, Greek salad, and a main course featuring five types of meat and bread. This option extends the total duration to 4.5 hours.
Language
If the group does not meet the minimum number of participants, the tour will be conducted by a bilingual guide in English and Spanish.
