Are you a lover of urban art? Discover the other side of Athens on this tour of the Psyri neighbourhood, where graffiti takes centre stage.
What to Expect
At the time indicated, we'll meet on Athinas Street, in the heart of Psyri, to begin the graffiti tour, a stroll through one of the more alternative areas of the Greek capital.
On this 2-hour tour, you'll discover the urban art that has emerged from social and political revolts, a key aspect of what makes the neighbourhood of Psyri popular among tourists seeking to understand recent history. It features taverns and cafes for breaks.
Next, we'll head to Omonoia, where we will see some of the oldest and most famous murals in Athens. During this segment, we will discuss the socio-economic factors affecting urban culture and local artists over recent years.
We'll continue to Metaxourgeio, where graffiti decorates the walls of this central area. Additionally, we will pass cafes and second-hand shops that complement the protest posters seen throughout the streets.
The tour will conclude after 2 hours in Athens's most alternative neighbourhoods.
