Are you a lover of urban art? Discover the other side of Athens on this tour of the Psyri neighbourhood, where graffiti takes centre stage.
What to Expect
At the time indicated, we'll meet on Athinas Street, in the heart of the Psyri neighbourhood, to begin the graffiti tour, a stroll through one of the alternative areas of the Greek capital.
On this 2-hours tour, you'll discover urban art that has emerged from social and political revolts, which has made the neighbourhood of Psyri popular among tourists keen to understand the recent history of Athens. The area is also home to taverns and cafes where you can take a break.
Then, we'll head to Omonoia, where we will see some of the oldest and most famous murals in Athens. Along the route, we'll discuss the different socio-economic factors of the crisis that have impacted urban culture and local artists in recent years.
We will continue our tour to Metaxourgeio, where graffiti decorates the walls of this central area in Athens. Additionally, we'll pass cafes and second-hand shops that beautifully combine with the protest posters adorning the streets.
The tour will finish after 2 hours in Athens's most alternative neighbourhoods.
