Old Athens + Acropolis Tour

On this tour of ancient Athens and the Acropolis, we will visit landmarks such as the Parthenon, and the neighborhoods of Monastiraki and Plaka.

Tour Description

At the selected time, we'll meet at 26 Athanasiou Diakou to begin our tour of old Athens, exploring the significance of this city with origins over three thousand years old.

The first stop will be Hadrian's Arch and the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the largest in Greece during the Hellenistic era. We'll then proceed to the Acropolis of Athens, accessed via the ancient entrance Propylaea, where we will see the Parthenon, Temple of Athena Nike, and the Erechtheion, discussing their architectural details and historical context.

Next, we'll visit the Odeon of Herodes Atticus and pass by the Agora, the center of social, political, and commercial life in ancient Athens. We will view the Neoclassical National Observatory of Athens and enjoy a panoramic viewpoint of Philopappos, Mars, and Pnyx.

We'll continue through Monastiraki, discovering the ruins of Hadrian's Library and the Tower of the Winds. Finally, we'll conclude the tour in the Athenian neighborhoods of Plaka and Anafiotika, parting ways 3.5 hours after the start.

Tickets to the Acropolis

You can book the guided tour of the Acropolis without tickets. If you choose this option, you must buy your own ticket according to the guided tour timetable. For an 8 am tour, purchase tickets for the 8 am to 9 am slot; for an 8:45 am tour, purchase tickets for the 9 am to 10 am slot.

EU citizens under 25 and non-EU citizens under 18 are admitted free with ID. Adults over 65 receive a 50% discount, available only at the ticket office or on the Acropolis website. If you have eligible individuals in your group, consider booking the guided tour without tickets to purchase tickets in advance and utilize these discounts.
