Tour Description
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at 26 Athanasiou Diakou to start our tour of old Athens, focusing on its history over three thousand years.
We'll begin with Hadrian's Arch and the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the largest temple in Greece during the Hellenistic era. Our next stop will be the Acropolis of Athens, accessible through the Propylaea. Here, we will observe the Parthenon, Temple of Athena Nike, and Erechtheion, exploring architectural details and the culture of the era.
We will also visit the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, and pass by the Agora, the hub of ancient Athenian life. A panoramic viewpoint will offer views of the hills of Philopappos, Mars, and Pnyx.
The tour continues through the Monastiraki district to view the ruins of Hadrian's Library and the Tower of the Winds. We will finish by strolling through the Athenian neighborhoods of Plaka and Anafiotika, concluding 3.5 hours after the start.
