At the designated time, we'll meet at Auburn Avenue to begin this free civil rights tour of Atlanta and learn about the legacy of Martin Luther King in Georgia's capital city.
During the tour, we'll explore the history of the civil rights movement in the United States, focusing on one of the most renowned activists.
We'll trace the life of Martin Luther King, passing by significant sites, including the exterior of his childhood home and the Ebenezer Baptist Church connected to his family. We'll also visit the burial site of Martin Luther King and his wife.
Next, we'll discuss the history of the African-American community and review recent equality laws as we walk through the International Civil Rights Walk of Fame.
Our next stops will include Wheat Street Church and the oldest fire station in Atlanta, both key to racial integration. Additionally, we will see various urban art murals.
After 2 hours of sightseeing, we'll conclude the free tour at Jackson Street Bridge.
