Hobbiton & Rotorua Tour

The landscapes of the Lord of the Rings, geothermal activity, and the rich Maori culture are explored on the Hobbiton and Rotorua Tour.

Tour Details

We will pick you up from your hotel in Auckland at the scheduled time for a day trip to Hobbiton and Rotorua.

During the journey south, we will provide interesting facts about New Zealand's largest city while enjoying views of its iconic attractions.

We will cross the Waikato countryside, a major agricultural area, with opportunities for photos of mountains, animals, rivers, and picturesque scenery.

Our first stop is Hobbiton, the film set for Hobbit and Lord of the Rings, where we will tour The Shire for 2 hours, visiting 44 hobbit holes and gardens. We will also enjoy a drink at the Green Dragon™ Inn.

Next, we will visit Tirau, known for its wrought iron sculptures, before heading to Rotorua. A stop will be made for food if desired.

In Rotorua, we will have a guided tour of the Wai-O-Tapu Geothermal Wonderland, featuring Lake Champagne, Devil's Bath, and other geothermal attractions.

We will then drive around Rotorua's landmarks, including Lake Rotorua and the Rotorua Museum. Time permitting, we can stop to try Manuka honey and shop for souvenirs.

We conclude the tour by returning to the departure point in Auckland after 13 hours.
