The landscapes of the Lord of the Rings, geothermal activity, the rich Maori culture... discover all this and much more on the Hobbiton and Rotorua Tour.

Tour Details

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Auckland for a day trip to Hobbiton and Rotorua.

On our way south, we will share interesting facts about New Zealand's biggest city while enjoying views of iconic points of interest.

We will cross the Waikato countryside, one of the largest agricultural areas in the world. Watch for big mountains, friendly animals, rushing rivers, and stunning scenery. Photo opportunities will be available.

After this journey, we will arrive at Hobbiton, the famous film set from Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. We will spend 2 hours touring The Shire, visiting the 44 hobbit holes and gardens, and enjoying a drink at the Green Dragon™ Inn.

Next, we will head to Tirau, known as the World Capital of Wrought Iron. A stop will be made for lunch if desired.

In Rotorua, we will visit the Wai-O-Tapu Geothermal Wonderland for a guided tour, experiencing Lake Champagne, Devil's Bath, mud pools, and geothermal craters.

We will then explore Rotorua's landmarks, including Lake Rotorua, the Rotorua Museum, and the Government Gardens. If time permits, we may visit a local shop for Manuka honey and souvenirs.

Finally, we will conclude the tour in Auckland 13 hours after beginning the activity.
