Embark on a memorable day trip to Rotorua, Wai-O-Tapu, and Te Puia, where you will explore three of New Zealand's remarkable attractions. This journey will take you through one of the nation's renowned geothermal regions, promising an unforgettable experience.

Day Trip Overview

At the designated time, we will collect you from your hotel in Auckland and commence our southward journey, immersing ourselves in the stunning landscapes of the Waikato region.

As we leave the urban environment behind, stories and interesting facts about one of the most significant agricultural zones in New Zealand and globally will unfold. During our route, expect to encounter picturesque views filled with rivers, mountains, and a variety of livestock such as cattle, horses, and sheep. A break will be included for coffee and light refreshments.

Next, we will pass through Tirau, a charming town famously recognized as the Corrugated Iron Capital of the World. Keep an eye out for the quirky sculptures and buildings made from this unique material—picking a favorite might prove to be a delightful challenge!

Our journey continues as we arrive in the city of Rotorua. Here, a panoramic tour will take you to see key attractions including Lake Rotorua, Government Gardens, Rotorua Museum, Whangapipiro Rachel Spring pool, and the Blue Baths.

Afterwards, we will proceed to the Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Reserve. Prepare to explore this astonishing geothermal zone and take in sights like Champagne Lake, Devil's Bath, the bubbling mud pools, and various craters. A note of caution: Wai-O-Tapu has a strong odor that may take some getting used to. Following this exploration, you'll have the chance to dine at a nearby restaurant during your free time.

Reenergized, we will then head to Te Puia. Here, you will dive deeply into M?ori culture with a 1.5-hour guided tour. While wandering through the geothermal valley, you will visit the kiwi conservation center and observe skilled artisans at work in the carving and weaving schools. Don't miss the spectacular eruption of the P?hutu geyser, soaring up to 30 meters (98 feet) high.

As the day winds down, we will return to Auckland, concluding our adventure as we drop you off at your hotel after an enriching 11-hour experience.
