Civil War & Civil Rights Tour
You'll be picked up from your hotel in Atlanta at the arranged time. A comfortable bus will transport you following the footsteps of the Civil War around the city, which was an important battlefield during the war of independence.
The first stop will be Cabbagetown, a preserved 19th-century residential neighbourhood. This historic district is listed in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places due to its significance to the cotton industry.
The tour will continue to Inman Park, the site of the Battle of Atlanta, which helped expedite the war's conclusion. While much of Atlanta was destroyed, you'll see some Victorian houses still standing.
A visit to Oakland Cemetery will follow, where notable figures and soldiers are buried, including the founder of the Masters Golf Tournament and Margaret Mitchell.
The tour will explore Atlanta's political history and its role in the Civil Rights movement, including visits to the home of Martin Luther King Jr., the church he attended, and his grave, with insights into his leadership.
Finally, you'll visit the Sweet Auburn Curb Market, once the wealthiest African-American street in the world during the 1920s. You'll learn about its history on this tour.
At the end, you'll be transported back to your hotels in Atlanta.
