Description

We'll pick you up at the indicated time at 41 Cours Jean Jaurès in Avignon. After an hour, we'll arrive in Nîmes, notable for its Roman heritage.

The key Roman monument is the Arenas de Nîmes amphitheatre. An English audio guide will be provided for your exploration. Gladiator competitions occurred in its central circle, and today it serves as a prominent bullring. A brief stop will follow at the Maison Carrée temple.

Next, we visit Pont du Gard, a well-preserved Roman aqueduct. You'll have free time to admire the monument or visit the Pont du Gard Museum to learn about Roman engineering.

The tour continues to Uzès, where you can explore this Provencal village. Highlights include the Place aux Herbes and the Tour Fenestrelle, a Romanesque bell tower at Saint-Théodorit cathedral.

We'll also stop in Orange, home to two significant ancient monuments from the 1st century BC, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The Roman Theatre will be a highlight.

Returning to Avignon, we will arrive at the starting point 8.5 hours after pickup.
