Cangallo Falls Hiking Tour
The Cangallo Falls Hiking Tour starts at 7:50 am at Plaza de Armas, heading south of Ayacucho. The tour takes you to the mystical waterfalls of Cangallo, including Pumapaqcha, Batán, and Qorimaqma, known for their legendary significance where rituals were once practiced. The waterfalls are believed to have magical properties and positive energies.
The tour follows the Route of the Cangallo Falls, starting with a 40-minute hike to the impressive Pumapaqcha waterfall. Next, you'll visit the Batán and Qorimaqma waterfalls, formed by the Chankil and Macromayo rivers, with a total hiking time of about 1.5 hours.
After the waterfalls, the bus will take you to the Huahuapuquio pool for a refreshing bath in its mineral-rich thermal waters. You'll have free time to have lunch at the pool's restaurant. Before returning to Ayacucho, there will be a brief stop in the town of Cangallo, also known as the "City of Heroes and Heroines." The tour ends around 8 pm back at Plaza de Armas in Ayacucho.
