Hiking and Kayaking at the Emerald Lagoon
Starting from the main square of Ayacucho at 6 am, the tour proceeds through the Andean highlands toward Huanta, where a breakfast stop will be made. By approximately 11 am, participants will reach the beginning of a half-hour trekking route leading to the Verdecocha or Emerald Lagoon, situated at an altitude of 4300 meters (14,100 feet).
Upon arrival at the lagoon, participants will board kayaks to paddle across the uniquely colored waters. The group will take time to enjoy the scenery and capture photographs. A stop at the Uchuraccay sanctuary will follow, offering rest and insights into the location's history.
After the hike, the tour includes a bus ride to Huanta for lunch, allowing free time to experience local cuisine independently. Following lunch, there will be a brief tour of the town, dubbed the Emerald of the Andes, which includes a visit to the statue of the White Christ.
The tour concludes with a return to Ayacucho, dropping off participants at approximately 6 pm.
