Huatuscalla & Huanta Excursion
At 9:15 am, we will meet at Plaza de Armas, the main square in Ayacucho, to start a day exploring natural sites.
We will head towards the Huatuscalla canyon, one of the highest altitude areas in Luricocha. Upon arrival, you will see picturesque landscapes. We will reach the town of Huatuscalla, located at 3,060 meters above sea level, and begin a 30-minute hike up a gentle slope to the viewpoint of Huatuscalla.
At the viewpoint, enjoy a panoramic view of the confluence of the Huarpa and Cachi rivers, which form the Mantaro River. After photos, you will have free time to have lunch.
We will continue by bus to the city of Huanta, known as the Emerald of the Andes. The tour includes visits to main monuments such as the Matriz Church, the Municipal Palace, and various archaeological sites. The tour concludes with a tasting of huanteño liquors.
Finally, we will return to Ayacucho and drop you off at the meeting point at 5 pm.
