Huatuscalla & Huanta Excursion
At 9:15 am, we'll meet at Plaza de Armas, the main square in Ayacucho, where we'll set off on a day of nature immersion.
We'll start by heading towards the Huatuscalla canyon, one of the highest areas in the district of Luricocha. Upon arrival, you'll see stunning landscapes of valleys and gorges. We'll reach the town of Huatuscalla, located at 3,060 meters above sea level, and begin a 30-minute hike up a gentle slope to the viewpoint of Huatuscalla.
From there, we'll enjoy a panoramic view of the Huarpa and Cachi rivers, which join to form the Mantaro River. After taking photos, you'll have free time for lunch on your own.
Afterward, we'll visit the city of Huanta, known as the Emerald of the Andes. We will tour the town, admiring main monuments such as the Matriz Church, the Municipal Palace, and various archaeological sites. At the end of the tour, we will have a tasting of huanteño liquors.
Finally, we'll return to Ayacucho, arriving back at the meeting point at 5 pm.
