With this excursion to Huatuscalla, we'll visit landscapes of valleys, basins, and ravines full of Andean vegetation, with a stop in Huanta to taste its liquors.

Huatuscalla & Huanta Excursion

At 9:15 am, we'll meet at Plaza de Armas, the main square in Ayacucho, to embark on a day exploring serene natural settings.

Our journey begins towards the Huatuscalla canyon, one of the highest areas in Luricocha. Upon arrival, you will observe the valleys, basins, and gorges. We will reach Huatuscalla, situated at 3,060 meters above sea level, and commence a 30-minute hike to the viewpoint of Huatuscalla.

From this viewpoint, we'll have a panoramic view of the Huarpa and Cachi rivers, which converge to form the Mantaro River. After taking photos, we'll proceed into town, where you will have free time for lunch.

Next, we will travel to the city of Huanta, known as the Emerald of the Andes. Our tour will include visits to key monuments such as the Matriz Church and the Municipal Palace, along with archaeological sites. The tour will conclude with a tasting of huanteño liquors.

We will return to Ayacucho and drop you off at the meeting point at 5 pm.
