Peruvian History Tour
At 9:30 am, we'll meet in the Plaza Mayor square and set off on an hour and a half journey north to the Wari Archaeological Complex. Here, we will explore the remains of the first Andean civilization that thrived between the 7th and 13th centuries. The tour includes a visit to the Site Museum, and we will also see the Templo Mayor and underground tunnels used as tombs.
Next, we'll travel to Quinua, a town in Ayacucho known for its craftsmanship and pottery. You'll observe the influence of ancient Wari culture in various pottery figures.
Nearby is the Pampas de Ayacucho Historic Sanctuary, the site of the historic Battle of Ayacucho, which marked the end of Spanish rule in Latin America. An option is available for a horse ride around the area for an enriching experience.
We will return to Ayacucho at 2:30 pm.
