With this excursion to the Pachapupum volcano, you'll visit the most famous volcano in Sacsamarca and bathe in its mineral-rich pools!

Tour to Pachapupum Volcano

We'll meet at the Plaza de Armas at the indicated time. The bus will take us to Sacsamarca, a cattle district south of Ayacucho.

During the 4-5 hour road trip, we'll stop in the town of Condorccocha for breakfast and again in Huanca Sancos for those needing to purchase lunch.

We'll arrive at the Pachapupum volcano and walk up to the top via natural steps formed by erosion. At the summit, you can see the impressive crater, which measures 10 meters in diameter, with water boiling due to geothermal heat.

There are also small wells around the crater, formed over thousands of years, containing mineral-rich waters. You'll have the opportunity to bathe in these hot springs—be sure to bring your swimsuit!

Afterward, we’ll take a break for lunch. Then, we will return by bus to Ayacucho, with arrival at the initial departure point scheduled for 18:00.
