Tour to Pachapupum Volcano

With this excursion to the Pachapupum volcano, you'll visit the most famous volcano in Sacsamarca and bathe in its mineral-rich pools!

Tour Details

We'll meet at the Plaza de Armas at the indicated time. A bus will take us to Sacsamarca, located south of Ayacucho.

During the 4-5 hour road trip, we'll stop in Condorccocha for a leg stretch and breakfast on your own. Another stop will be in Huanca Sancos for those who need to buy lunch.

Upon arriving at the Pachapupum volcano, we'll walk to the top via natural steps formed by erosion. At the summit, you can admire the crater measuring 10 meters in diameter, with boiling water from geothermal heat.

You'll also find small wells around the crater, with waters rich in minerals like salt and sulfur. You can bathe in these hot springs—bring your swimsuit!

After a break for lunch, we'll return by bus to Ayacucho, with arrival at the departure point scheduled for 18:00.
