Vilcashuamán and Pumacocha Day Trip
After meeting at the Plaza Mayor of Ayacucho at 8 am, the bus will depart to see the Puyas de Raimondi, also known as the "queen of the Andes".
The tour will proceed to the Pumacocha Archaeological Complex, where architectural remains serve as a resting place for the higher classes of Inca culture. Visitors will see the tower, the sundial or Intihuatana, and the palace remains.
A short break will follow the visit for lunch. Post-lunch, the group will travel to the Archaeological Complex of Vilcashuamán, once an Inca administrative centre.
Within, the trapezoid-shaped plaza accommodating up to 20,000 people will be observed. To the south lies the ancient Temple of the Sun, beneath which the church of San Juan Bautista was built in the 16th century.
The trip concludes with a return to Ayacucho, expected by around 8 pm.
