Vilcashuamán and Pumacocha Day Trip
After meeting in the Plaza Mayor of Ayacucho at 8 am, we'll get on the bus and set off to see the Puyas de Raimondi, known as the "queen of the Andes".
The tour will continue to the Pumacocha Archaeological Complex, where we will see the remains of a resting place for higher classes of the Inca culture. Highlights include the tower, the sundial or Intihuatana, and the palace remains.
Before continuing the trip, we'll take a short break for lunch. After lunch, we'll head to the Archaeological Complex of Vilcashuamán, an ancient Inca administrative centre.
Inside, we will observe the trapezoid-shaped plaza, which can hold up to 20,000 people. To the south lies the ancient Temple of the Sun, where the church of San Juan Bautista was built in the 16th century atop it.
At the end of the trip, we will return to Ayacucho, arriving around 8 pm.
