Vilcashuamán and Pumacocha Day Trip
After meeting in the Plaza Mayor of Ayacucho at 8 am, we'll get on the bus and set off to see the Puyas de Raimondi, known as the "queen of the Andes".
The tour will continue to the Pumacocha Archaeological Complex, where we will see architectural remains, including a resting place for the higher classes of the Inca culture, a tower, a sundial or Intihuatana, and palace remains.
We will take a short break for lunch before heading to the Archaeological Complex of Vilcashuamán, which was the Inca administrative centre.
Inside, we will view the trapezoid-shaped plaza that can accommodate up to 20,000 people. To the south of this square is the ancient Temple of the Sun, under which the church of San Juan Bautista was built in the 16th century.
At the end of the trip, we will return to Ayacucho, arriving by around 8 pm.
