This ticket allows you to visit the Azay-le-Rideau castle, an important fortress in the Loire Valley, located on an island in the Indre River. It is part of the Loire Valley UNESCO World Heritage Site.
You can see various rooms including the Biencourt Room, featuring 18th and 19th-century decor, and the bedroom of Phillippe Lesbahy, the wife of Giles Berthelot, the castle's first owner in the 16th century.
Opening Times
The Azay-le-Rideau castle is open during the following hours:
From September 1 to September 30: 9:30 am to 6 pm.From October 1 to March 31: 10 am to 5:15 pm.From April 1 to June 30: 9:30 am to 6 pm.From July 1 to August 31: 9:30 am to 7 pm.
On December 24 and December 31, the castle closes at 4 pm. Please note that the last admission is one hour before closing.
Free Admission
Free admission to the Castle of Azay-le-Rideau is available for:
Young people from the European Union aged 18 to 25 years.Children under 18 years old, regardless of nationality.
Additionally, admission is free on the first Sunday of the month from January to March and November to December, as well as during the third weekend of September. To obtain free admission, visit the site’s ticket office with a certifying document for eligibility.
