Cruise across the most turquoise waters you have ever seen with this boat trip on the Bacalar Lagoon. You'll fall in love with this magical enclave of Quintana Roo!
Boat Trip Details
We'll meet at the selected time along Avenida Costera #429B, from where we'll board a boat for a 2-hour ride on the Bacalar Lagoon, also known as the 'Lagoon of Seven Colors.'
This large expanse of turquoise waters is formed by a series of cenotes that vary in color depending on their depth. First, we'll cruise through the Cocalitos cenote to see its thousand-year-old stromatolites.
Next, we'll head to the La Bruja cenote, a dark blue lagoon spanning 130 meters in diameter that has a mystical Maya legend. We'll provide details during the tour. Afterward, we'll continue our boat ride through the Esmeralda cenote, admiring its crystalline waters.
During the trip, we'll circle around Isla de los Pájaros (Birds Island) to observe the local wildlife, including hawks, larks, parrots, and owls. Lastly, we'll stop at the Pirates' Channel, connecting the Bacalar Lagoon with Chetumal Bay. This area is historically significant for being a site of pirate attacks.
At the end of the boat trip, we'll head back to the starting point, concluding the experience after two hours.
