Cruise across the most turquoise waters you have ever seen with this boat trip on the Bacalar Lagoon. You'll fall in love with this magical enclave of Quintana Roo!
Bacalar Lagoon Boat Trip
We will meet at the selected time at the Rancho Encantado Hotel dock, where we will board a boat for a two-hour ride on the Bacalar Lagoon, also known as the 'Lagoon of Seven Colors.
This expanse of turquoise waters is formed by a series of cenotes that vary in color depending on their depth. First, we will cruise through the Cocalitos cenote to see its thousand-year-old stromatolites, mineral formations found in very few places in the world.
Next, we will head to the La Bruja cenote, a dark blue lagoon spanning 130 meters in diameter that is associated with a mystical Maya legend. Afterward, we will continue our boat ride through the Esmeralda cenote, admiring its crystalline waters.
During the trip, we will circle around Isla de los Pájaros (Birds Island) to observe the hawks, larks, parrots, and owls that inhabit the area. Lastly, we will stop at the Pirates' Channel, which connects the Bacalar Lagoon with the Chetumal Bay, named for its historical significance.
At the end of the boat trip, we will return to the starting point, concluding the experience after two hours.
