Explore the enchanting turquoise waters of Bacalar Lagoon on this captivating boat excursion. Prepare to be mesmerized by the beauty of this exquisite destination in Quintana Roo!
Details of the Boat Excursion
We will convene at the designated meeting point on Avenida Costera #429B, where you will board a boat for a 2-hour journey across Bacalar Lagoon, also referred to as the 'Lagoon of Seven Colors'.
This vast stretch of stunning turquoise water showcases a variety of dreamlike cenotes, whose colors shift with depth. Our first stop will be at the Cocalitos cenote, home to ancient stromatolites, unique mineral formations that are exceptionally rare worldwide.
Following this, we will proceed to the La Bruja cenote, a dark blue lagoon that measures 130 meters in diameter and is steeped in an intriguing Maya legend, which we will share during the journey! Our boat ride will then continue through the Esmeralda cenote, allowing you to admire its stunning crystalline waters.
Throughout the excursion, we will circle around Isla de los Pájaros (Birds Island), where you can observe a variety of hawks, larks, parrots, and owls inhabiting the area. Our last stop will be at the Pirates' Channel, a link between Bacalar Lagoon and Chetumal Bay, historically known as a point of attack for pirates.
Concluding our boat excursion, we will make our way back to the starting point, wrapping up this memorable two-hour experience.
