Kohunlich and Dzibanché Tour
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Bacalar to visit two ancient Mayan settlements located in the Mexican jungle of Quintana Roo.
First, we'll visit the archaeological site of Dzibanché, one of the state's most significant Mayan cities, believed to have origins dating back to 200 BC. The site is surrounded by a lush jungle environment, where there may be opportunities to see howler monkeys and exotic birds.
Afterwards, we will travel to the archaeological site of Kohunlich, a Mayan ceremonial center comprised of several architectural complexes. We will walk through the acropolis to the Temple of the Masks, featuring five figures depicting aspects of Mayan ceremonial life, and view the Temple of the 27 Steps among other notable sites.
Before returning to Bacalar, we will stop at a restaurant located in the jungle for a meal that includes a main course, starter, dessert, and drink.
After an 8-hour tour, we'll conclude the excursion and drop you back off at your hotel.
