On this excursion to Kohunlich and Dzibanché from Bacalar, we'll explore two significant Mayan sites in the Quintana Roo jungle.

Kohunlich and Dzibanché Tour

At the scheduled time, we will pick you up at your hotel in Bacalar to visit two ancient Mayan settlements in the Quintana Roo jungle.

First, we will visit the archaeological site of Dzibanché, one of the most important Mayan cities in the south, believed to date back to 200 BC. The site features several temples and is surrounded by lush jungle, where we may see howler monkeys and various exotic birds.

Next, we will proceed to the archaeological site of Kohunlich, a Mayan ceremonial center with multiple architectural complexes. We will walk through the acropolis to reach the Temple of the Masks, which has five figures representing aspects of Mayan ceremonial life. We will also view the Temple of the 27 Steps and other notable sites.

Before returning to Bacalar, we will stop at a restaurant in the jungle for a menu that includes a main course, starter, dessert, and drink.

After an 8-hour tour, we will conclude the excursion and drop you back at your hotel.
