At the appointed time we'll meet at Max-Höfler-Platz to start our guided tour through Bad Tölz. Colorful houses, a peaceful atmosphere, and a breathtaking view of the Isar River and the Pre-Alps will be highlights of this tour.
We'll start with a walk through the town and explore its fascinating history. Although Bad Tölz has been recorded since the 12th century, it gained prominence in 1331. To understand this, we will delve into the significance of Emperor Ludwig IV of Bavaria.
During our walk, we will see the façade of the old town hall, which is now the Museum of Bad Tölz, the parish church of the Assumption, and provide gastronomic recommendations for emblematic places to visit after the tour.
We will discuss the area's evolution since the mid-19th century when Bad Tölz became a prominent spa town in Bavaria. You'll continuously learn new insights throughout the tour.
After an hour and a half of sightseeing, we'll conclude our guided tour of Bad Tölz at Marktstrasse, designed by architect Gabriel von Seidl.
