On this guided tour of Baeza, we will explore the historic centre of this World Heritage City and visit the Cathedral of the Nativity.
Baeza Guided Tour
The guided tour will start at Calle San Pablo, 8. We will learn about the history of monuments such as the Tower of the Aliatares and visit Barbacana St, which features the city's 16th-century granary. Next, we will head to Constitution and Pópulo squares, where we will find historic civilian buildings including the old Public Notaries. Nearby, we will see the Palace of Jabalquinto and enter the church of Santa Cruz to view its heritage.
We will tour the interior of the old University of Baeza, remembering writer Antonio Machado, and visit the Cathedral of the Nativity of Our Lady, observing the evolution of styles from Gothic to Renaissance. Additionally, we will see the Guadalquivir Valley from the lookout point of the old city walls, offering views of the Cazorla and Mágina mountain ranges. The tour will conclude with an olive oil tasting, a signature product of Jaén.
