Night Tour Details
At the scheduled time, we'll meet on Calle San Pablo, 8 and begin our night tour of Baeza.
Our tour will start with a walk along the Paseo de la Constitución, where the Aliatares Tower, part of the Muslim wall, is located. We will proceed to the Alhóndiga, a 16th-century commercial building connecting to the Old Granary.
Next, we will visit the Plaza del Pópulo, home to the fountain of the Lions, the Old Butchers, the Jaen Gate, and the Arch of Villalar. The square's atmosphere becomes intriguing at night.
We will continue to the Plaza de Santa Maria, featuring a stone fountain, and explain its status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2003.
Within this square is the cathedral, along with the Fountain of Santa Maria and the Casas Consistoriales Altas. The cathedral is notable for its massive dome.
We will enjoy views from the lookout point at Paseo de Antonio Machado over the Guadalquivir Valley, and observe nearby natural parks and cities. Our visit will include Plaza de Santa Cruz, home to the only Romanesque church in Andalusia, and the Palace of Jabalquinto. Finally, we will view the Old University, associated with poet Antonio Machado.
