The province of Jaen is the home of olive oil, and you can discover it at the Olive Museum in Baeza and the town's oil mill.
Description
At the specified time, we will begin at the entrance of the Olive Culture Museum, where you'll have the opportunity to tour one of the premier olive tourism facilities in Andalusia, guided by an expert in Spanish.
During the tour, you'll learn about the industry, examining the 30+ varieties of olive trees in the Garden of Varieties, as well as old pressing systems and equipment from the 19th century.
We will proceed to the olive oil cellar, dating back to 1848, where the central European influence on the architecture is evident—as the building was designated a Cultural Heritage Site in 2007.
Next, an expert Spanish-speaking guide will demonstrate the operation of the oil mill, providing insight into the modern production and extraction of olive oil in the 21st century.
To conclude the tour, we'll take an introductory course in olive oil tasting in the old 19th-century factory. You'll learn to distinguish between different varieties of oil, check its quality, and discover the properties of olive oil.
After 1 hour and 45 minutes in total, this tour will end.
