The province of Jaen is the home of olive oil, and you can explore this further at the Olive Museum in Baeza and the town's oil mill.
Description
At the specified time, we'll begin at the entrance of the Olive Culture Museum, where you'll tour one of the notable olive tourism facilities in Andalusia, guided by an expert in Spanish.
During the tour, we will learn about the industry, examining over 30 varieties of olive trees in the Garden of Varieties, as well as old pressing systems and 19th-century equipment.
We will then proceed to the olive oil cellar, dating back to 1848. The building's architecture reflects central European influence and was designated a Cultural Heritage Site in 2007.
Next, a Spanish-speaking guide will demonstrate the workings of the oil mill, providing insight into the modern-day production and extraction processes in the 21st century.
To conclude, we will have an introductory course in olive oil tasting at the old 19th-century factory. You'll learn to differentiate between various oil types, assess quality, and explore the different properties of olive oil.
This tour lasts 1 hour and 45 minutes in total.
